Love So Far Poster - 1200x675.PNG

The show follows baristas Connor, Max, Nova, and new team-member Miles throughout a shift at “Rosemary’s Cafe”. All under the watchful eye of supervisor Erin, the four work together to make the day go by and sneak in some shenanigans whenever they’re unsupervised. Connor is determined to train Miles to perfection, despite Miles being far more experienced than all of the staff. Mac spends most of the show in her own head, drowning in her own anxiety at times and denying her obvious crush on Connor. Nova embodies everyone’s favourite stereotype of being the local cool, gay barista, making off the menu drinks for her favourite regular Brooke and keeping an eye on Mac. Miles feels like he’s supposed to be doing more with his life and realizes he’s not the only one during an unexpected lunch break. Together, the staff is just trying to keep the cafe afloat and avoid seemingly impossible customers whenever they sail through the front doors. From open mic nights to first dates, audiences get a sneak peak at what can happen within the walls of a local coffee shop - which is just about anything!

Land Acknowledgement

The Guelph Fringe Festival will be performed on the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation of the Anishinaabek Peoples. We recognize this gathering place where we create and perform theatre is home to many past, present, and future First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Our acknowledgement of the land is our declaration of our collective responsibility to this place and its peoples’ histories, rights, and presence. The Guelph Fringe team supports and adds our collective voice to the CALLS TO ACTION by the Truth and Reconciliation Committee on Indian Residential Schools (and other identified sites of trauma) with our commitment to never forget, to hold governments and colonial forces to account, and to seek accountability and healing for injustice.
