Artist's Welcome Page
Welcome To The Guelph Fringe Festival
This page is where you can find everything you need to have a successful Fringe!
Fringe phone: 647-208-5433 or 519-546-6496
Fringe email: info@theguelphfringefestival.ca
Fringe office: There isn’t one this year. Ask to speak to the Lead at one of our venue Box Offices if you need assistance.
Front Of House and Money
At each venue there will be a Venue Lead. Upon your arrival at your tech time slot your venue lead will greet you, ask you to read and sign our code of conduct, identify your designated signee and ask a few questions before taking you to the performance space. If you have any questions or requests regarding anything that isn’t tech or stage related these Venue Leads will either be able to answer them, or they will relay them to Kimberly (the Front of House Coordinator) to get you the answers to them.
How You Will Be Receiving Your Ticket Sales Money.
BOX OFFICE RECEIPTS
● Your cash ticket sales money will be available immediately after your performance, at your performance venue.
● There will be an assigned ‘payout’ location at each venue.
● Please meet the Venue Lead there within 15 minutes after each performance, and make sure that you take your money.
● If you don’t take your money, well then, we’ll assume that you are making a donation to the Fringe (Thanks!)
How much money?
● You will receive $12.00 per ticket sold, for cash tickets, advance online sales, and point-of-sale Square card sales.
● For all tickets there is a $3 box office admin fee. You will still receive $12 per ticket sold.
● Box office in your venue opens 20 minutes before each performance. Advance tickets are sold on-line only. We do not sell Advance Tickets at the Venues.
○ Advance tickets: sold on-line only
○ In-person cash and card tickets sold at your venue only, available starting 20 minutes before each show.
GETTING YOUR MONEY
We like to keep it simple. Here’s how you receive your hard-earned dollars:
You must assign one person – one person only – to get your money.
● The Primary Contact for your show can designate any one person in your company to get the cash.
● That one Designated Person is the only one who will be able to collect your money
● Notify us at Fringe if this Designated Person is someone other than the Primary Contact
● Your Designated Person will need to sign the Fringe SIGNATURE SHEET so that our box office folks can verify signatures.
● Whenever you pick up your cash, you will be signing the Box Office Artist Payout Sheet. We will have the SIGNATURE SHEET at your TECH REHEARSAL. You must make sure that we have the signature on file before your first show starts.
● Each Box Office Artist Payout Sheet will have a full accounting of cash sales, online ticket sales, and comps.
ADVANCE SALES
We will pay the money owed to you from any of the digital Ticket Sales (Zeffy and Square), by e-transfer to the Primary Contact, approximately 2-4 weeks after the Festival closes. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause, however for our sanity (and that of our accountant) we need to do it this way. Thanks for understanding. We promise to get the e-transfer to you asap!
All of these measures are to make sure that your money is safe and that it goes to the right people.
If you have questions, please ask Jen C: accounting@theguelphfringefestival.ca
COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS POLICY
Complimentary tickets will be available to certain groups in the following ways:
1. OFFICIAL COMP
Each production will receive 10 comps to give away at their own discretion. You will be given an alphanumeric code to order free tickets directly through Zeffy.
2. VOLUNTEER COMP
All volunteers are granted free access to performances. They will wait outside the performance and will be allowed into the performance space 2 minutes before showtime, but only if there is still available seating.
3. RUSH COMP
Productions will be allowed to provide "secret code" comps to anyone of their choosing. At some point prior to their performances, the production lead will provide a "secret code" to the FOH (Front of House/ box office) folks. Any patrons who give that code to the FOH table can join the "free access" line with the volunteers and they will be let in 2 minutes prior to the performance if there are seats available.
4. MEDIA COMP
Official Fringe media outlets have comps/specific passes. You do not need to comp them and our box office will mark on your payout form if “media” have attended.
Ticket Policy
● No Exchanges / No Refunds
● No Re-Admittance
● No Latecomers Admitted – this is the default unless you have made a special exemption request to Guelph Fringe Festival by email to the festival artist coordinator, or to your venue’s Venue Lead at the beginning of your tech.
● No Exceptions (and we mean no exceptions)
Tech and Venues
If you are opting to use a Fringe provided technician, remember to bring the $60 ($20 per show) to your tech time to pay the technician directly.
